Bio:
9th professional season, all with the Brewers organization ... Spent the entire 2005-08 seasons in the majors with Milwaukee ... 2007 National League All-Star Selection ... Played for USA Olympic Qualifying Team in 2003 ... Participated in MLB All-Star Futures Game in 2003 ... Father, Mark, was a professional tennis player and his mother, Susie, played golf at the University of Arizona.

2008 SEASON
  • Batted .283 with 24 HR and 74 RBI in 146 games
  • Made 143 starts, all at shortstop
  • Had career highs in batting average (.283), doubles (31), triples (4) and walks (52)
  • Became only the third player in franchise history to hit 20 or more home runs in a season as a shortstop twice.....he joined Robin Yount (1980 and 1982) and Jose Hernandez (2001-02).....Hardy had 26 HR in 2007
  • Among all Major League shortstops ranked second in homers (24), trailing the Marlins’ Hanley Ramirez (33), and ranked third in RBI (74), trailing the Indians’ Jhonny Peralta (86) and the Rangers’ Michael Young (81)
  • Was named National League Player of the Week for 6/30-7/6 (18-30, .600, 6hr, 12rbi)
  • Became the fourth player in franchise history to produce consecutive 4-hit games (7/3 at Ari and 7/4 vs. Pit).....he joined the list of Ben Oglivie (1979), Cecil Cooper (1982) and Jim Gantner (1983).....Ryan Braun joined the club later in the season (7/23 and 7/24 at St. Louis)
  • Had 2-homer games on 7/1 at Arizona and 7/6 vs. Pittsburgh
  • On J.J. Hardy Bobblehead Day (8/24 vs. Pittsburgh) he recorded a walkoff RBI-single in the 12th inning to give the Brewers a 4-3 victory
  • Produced a walkoff RBI-single in the 11th inning on 9/5 vs. San Diego to give the Brewers a 3-2 win
  • Produced three double-figure hitting streaks coming from 6/11-7/4 (16g), 7/18-7/28 (10g) and 8/13-8/27 (12g)
